This course is for WebSphere systems support staff who need to know how to install, configure and maintain WebSphere Installations. |
| PREREQUISITES: |
Delegates should be familiar with the target operating system on which they will be supporting WebSphere and should also have an understanding of the web, HTML, and client-server systems. We recommend that delegates attend our WebSphere v6 Introduction class. |

| OBJECTIVES: |
The course is suitable for all release levels of WebSphere V6 and delegates will learn how to install configure and maintain the WebSphere Application Server. |

Day 1 Introduction to WebSphere family, in particular the Application Server Background and history of the Application Server WebSphere Architectural Concepts Installing WebSphere Application Server HTTP Server installation and configuration Patching WebSphere Application Server Introduction to the administrative interfaces to WebSphere
Day 2 J2EE Overview Starting and stopping Application Servers Creating an application server Packaging Applications for WebSphere Deploying applications onto WebSphere Application Servers (including WRD) Introduction to the objects that are managed within WebSphere administrative domains
Day 3 Introduction to clustering and workload management Creating clusters (server groups) Creating cluster members for vertical and horizontal scaling Creating WebSphere Workload managed clusters Deploying applications across nodes in clusters Application scalability
Day 4 WebSphere Platform Messaging Diagnosing problems Applying WebSphere Security Trace modules Application Server Toolkit Tivoli Performance Viewer Any issues brought up over the preceding days |
