AUDIENCE:   This course is for computer personnel who are new to VME Operating. DURATION:   5 days. Hands on. OBJECTIVES:   This course provides delegates with the knowledge and skills needed to maintain the successful day-to-day operation of a VME system running on a Trimetra NOVA platform. COURSE CONTENT:   VME operating system introduction and explanation Trimetra NOVA Hardware layout and connections Use and format of System Control Language operator commands The VME catalogue on the Trimetra NOVA Hardware representation of the Trimetra NOVA in the catalogue with relevant operator screens System prompts The virtual machine environment in VME Job scheduling in the work management system using operator screens Control of the workflow/work scheduling The Journal System and System Housekeeping Load and closedown of the Trimetra NOVA VME system Simple use of Multi-Access Computing (MAC) Facilities An explanation of Trimetra NOVA Filestore (Disc and Tape) Handling Tape categories Use of the TELL command SAM and VISA error functions on Trimetra NOVA Operator commands Multi-Nodal Systems Service Printers
