Oracle 8i/9i Database Administration |

| AUDIENCE: |
This course is for support staff who need to be able to provide the day to day administration of an Oracle 9i based system. The course is also relevant to Oracle 8i installations. |
| PREREQUISITES: |
The participant should have a strong understanding of using an Oracle based system, good knowledge of SQL*Plus and (preferably) PL/SQL, or previous attendance of the Oracle SQL and PL/SQL courses, or their equivalents from other training providers. |

| OBJECTIVES: |
This course provides students with the skills to describe the architecture of an Oracle system and the creation, maintenance and configuration of databases. Students will also gain the ability to administer users, perform backups, recover a database, use the data and design distributed databases. It is highly interactive and consists of theory coupled with plenty of hands on practical sessions. On completion the delegate will understand the responsibilities of a DBA and be able to perform the tasks associated with this role. Delegates will be provided with the skills to describe the architecture of an Oracle system and the creation, maintenance and configuration of databases. They will also gain the practical experience to administer users, roles and privileges, perform both cold and online backups and fully recover a damaged database. |
