| AUDIENCE: |
This course is for experienced support staff or users who have hands-on experience with a UNIX-based system, or who have used another type of system and have attended suitable pre-training. |
| PREREQUISITES: |
The participant should have a good basic understanding of UNIX, preferably gained through our UNIX: The Essentials course, and ideally some practical experience in the workplace. |

| OBJECTIVES: |
The course is highly interactive and consists of theory with plenty of hands on practical content. It will provide attendees with the self-sufficiency and confidence to manage and provide first line support of an IRIX based system. It will enable delegates to cope satisfactorily with the day to day running of a multi-user IRIX site and provide support to users and other administration functions (e.g. DBA.) This course will also provide a firm base on which more advanced system administration techniques can be based.
