The course is designed for systems analysts and application programmers.
PREREQUISITES:
COBOL or PL/1 programming experience as well as program edit and submission knowledge.
DURATION:
2-3 days. Hands on.
OBJECTIVES:
This course introduces the student to the concepts of data communication in IMS and covers the programming components necessary for coding on-line programs.
Upon completion of the course the student will be able to:
- Write a typical Message Processing Program.
- Describe the differences in conversational programs.
- Describe the useful facilities of IMS DC.
- Write and test a simple PSB.
- Use BTS to test an MPP.
- Code and use simple MFS
