| History: | Alan has a BSc Hons Modular Degree Scheme in Statistics and Computing, Geography and French from the City of London Polytechnic. He commenced his career as a COBOL Computer Programmer in 1978 with United Biscuits progressing through the various levels of Junior to Senior Programmer etc. He began training for them in 1986 and left United Biscuits in 1994 as a Senior IT Trainer.
He has been writing Jackson Structured Cobol programs since 1978 and has supported people in the Language and methodology for over 10 years. Since 1978 he has held an Instructors Licence from Michael Jackson Systems Limited, having successfully completed their Jackson Structured Programming Instructors and Consultants Courses.
Regarding JCL, he has taught the subject at all levels for OS/390 environments as well as MVS XA versions to Programmer, Technical Analyst and Operations audiences.
